I don't expect it to be the absolute best.  But then, ITHOG and Go weren't either.  But I am loving what I've heard, and I can't wait to hear the rest.

Don't get me wrong, I like Go.  But it's not their absolute best.  It's just way better than anything anyone else has done.   Grin

SUTTM and TMTYL were the best.  Grin

I doubt I'll get the new album simply because there are so many other albums coming out this year that I want more (Jennifer Knapp's comeback album,
Article One's new album, etc.) and as a college student, it's not like I'm rolling in teh cash. Wink
Plus, I didn't like Tait's voice when he was in dcTalk or when he was a solo artist, so it's not like I'm crazy about him now that he's a newsboy. It's not like I kick and  scream and bawl every time I see his face; I just don't think he would have been my first choice for a frontman. (I'm sorry. I know it's nothing that hasn't been said by 3/4 of the fan base already, but hey, you asked Wink)

I love Tait's voice.  He's a truly gifted singer.  Though I do get that not everyone likes the same thing.  I will probably buy a couple of copies of the new album.  I bought 2 or 3 ITHOG, and have given them all away.  So I just have my iTunes one that I listen to.

It's hard to narrow down their BEST album, but I'm thinking it's Microphone.  That thing is awesome.  It's not only one of their best, but I think one of the best CCM albums ever made.

Step up to the Microphone I think I like mostly because I bought it at the beginning of a really great summer for me and so that's when I listened to it the most and now when I hear that album it brings back memories. Smiley

Take Me to Your Leader is just really awesome 90's rock album. And the lyrics are freakin awesome. It seems like that's the criteria everyone uses to judge them. If they put out an album all the reviewers are like "Yeah, well, TMTYL was better!" and it was, but really, it's hard to beat TMTYL. Especially the line about the habanero sauce.  Kiss

Thrive is up there pretty high for me too. Mostly for John Woo and Lord (I Don't Know).

for me, SUTTM wasn't nearly as good as th rest of them. it seemed like after john james left, a LOT of the quirkiness that we love about them was gone in that album. another thing was that steve taylor was noticeably missing on most of the songs, he only cowrote on a couple. there's about 3 really good songs in there, but not enough to really cut it for me. LLD is........ weird lol. but it's still very good.
Hell is for wimps, now that one is truly underrated. i love pulling that one out every once in a while and banging my head to some old skool 90's rock!   Cheesy

so right Tongue

Well...I think all the albums are my favourites, all in their own different ways Smiley Maybe I'll thing 'ITHOG is my fave' but then i start thinking 'oh but SUTTM was pretty dang awesome...' and it goes on Tongue

Yeah. The new album will be awesome. That's just given. But to me, I think Peter just had that 'x factor' that brought their just plain 'omgness!!!' another esclamation mark.

Tongue lol my explanations are terrible Tongue

I don't think it'll be especially good or bad. I've only heard Born Again (haven't had the time to listen to samples... yep, my life has been that crazy) and I was actually pleasantly surprised. A few months ago I thought I'd completely shun this album. Now I'm thinking I'll buy a few of the songs off of iTunes... mainly because I'm going to CreationFest this summer (EEEE!) and must learn lyrics, but still.
